Rev. Michael Grinnals
Larry is our pianist. Larry attended Manhattan School of Music and contributes to worship by playing the piano for hymns. He also shares the worship music duties by accompanying the choir during worship. As is true of all of our staff, Larry is a valuable member of our team.
Rev. Grinnals is a second career minister. He studied music education and church music at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. After a brief career in music education, Rev. Grinnals studied Respiratory Therapy at Onondaga Community College and spent 20 years in healthcare both as a Clinical Respiratory Therapist in local hospitals and Director of Education and Training at two major health systems. While the Director of Education and Training, Rev. Grinnals pursued a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management and Development. After being appointed as a local pastor in a United Methodist Church, he completed a course of study at Wesley Theological Seminary. The combination of church music, healthcare, human resource and seminary training affords Rev. Grinnals a passionate and unique view of the needs of a twenty first century church.
We are fortunate to have a talented graduate of Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam University as one of our church musicians. Alisa Grinnals is well versed in church music with nearly thirty years of experience. She began her professional career very early as the assistant to her mother who was the organist/choir director of a church in Lowville, New York.. Alisa performed with the Crane Chorus, the Bernie Schmidt Singers and most recently with the Syracuse Pops Chorus.
